About Us
Why the name?
The Parable of the Talents is a story told by Jesus in Matthew 25:14-30. It teaches about stewardship, responsibility, and faithfulness in using what God has given us.
Summary of the Parable:
A master goes on a journey and entrusts his three servants with different amounts of money (“talents”—a large sum of silver or gold):
- One servant receives five talents
- Another receives two talents
- The last servant receives one talent
Each servant is given talents according to their ability. The master later returns to settle accounts:
- The servant with five talents has doubled them to ten.
- The servant with two talents has doubled them to four.
- The servant with one talent was afraid and buried it, returning only what was given.
The master praises the first two servants for their faithfulness and rewards them with greater responsibility. But the third servant, who did nothing with his talent, is rebuked and cast out as “wicked and lazy.”
Key Lessons from the Parable:
God Entrusts Us with Gifts & Resources
- “Talents” symbolize not just money but also skills, opportunities, and responsibilities God gives us.
- We are expected to use and multiply what we’ve been given.
Faithfulness Brings Reward
- Those who work diligently with their talents are rewarded with more.
- God calls us to invest in His kingdom, whether through business, ministry, or service.
Fear Leads to Inaction
- The third servant was paralyzed by fear and did nothing.
- Not using our gifts can lead to loss and missed opportunities.
God Expects Growth, Not Just Preservation
- The master was not pleased with the servant who merely returned what was given.
- Playing it safe instead of taking steps of faith leads to stagnation.
Judgment & Accountability
- One day, we will have to give an account for how we used what God entrusted to us.
- Those who are faithful will hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
Application for Today:
- Are you using your talents for God’s glory, or are you “burying” them out of fear?
- How can you invest in God’s kingdom—whether financially, spiritually, or through your work?
- What opportunities do you need to act on in faith instead of waiting?
This parable challenges us to live boldly, work diligently, and invest wisely in what God has given us.
What do we believe?
We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the power of God’s love to transform lives. Our core beliefs uphold the authority of the Bible, the importance of prayer, and the calling to live out our faith through worship, fellowship, service, and through our business.
How did we start?
Our core group has more than six decades of experience in business startups, operations, debt and equity funding, and consulting. As such, we have more than one billion dollars in deal flow.
During this time, we noticed that many businesses had great operators but lacked access to affordable funding and quality consulting and advice.
Because we are people of Christian faith, we now actively seek out like-minded business owners who wish to use their resources to share Jesus with others.
In turn, we provide affordable funding and consulting. This exemplifies our core focus of “sowing and reaping” as found in the Bible.
